New Construction Plumbing Trim-Out — Phase 3 (Final)

Circle T Plumbing & Water Quality provides new construction trim-out plumbing for custom home builds and small residential construction projects across Fort Worth and the surrounding area. Trim-out is the final phase of the three-phase new construction plumbing sequence — and the phase that’s most visible to the homeowner.

By the time trim-out begins, the rough-in is inspected and behind the walls, the top-out valves are set, and the home is painted and ready for fixtures. Trim-out is where the plumbing system becomes real: faucets turn on, toilets flush, the water heater comes to life. The quality of work at this stage is what a homeowner sees and uses every day.

Texas state law requires new construction plumbing to be performed under a licensed master plumber. Patrick McKinnis holds Texas Responsible Master Plumber License #M45785 — the highest credential issued by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners — and handles trim-out personally.

What Happens During Trim-Out

Trim-out is scheduled after drywall, paint, and cabinet installation are complete — the home is otherwise finished when Circle T arrives for the final phase. During trim-out, Circle T Plumbing & Water Quality installs and connects:

  • Faucets and sink installations — kitchen sink, bathroom lavatory faucets, utility sinks; all supply and drain connections made
  • Toilet set — toilets secured, supply connected, wax ring sealed, seats installed
  • Tub and shower trim — trim kits installed over rough valve bodies set at top-out; handles, spouts, and shower heads set
  • Water heater connection and commissioning — supply and discharge connections finalized, pressure relief valve installed, system filled, temperature set, and operation verified
  • Appliance connections — dishwasher supply and drain, ice maker line, washing machine final connections
  • Final pressure test — full-system pressure test across all supply lines before walk-through sign-off

The Walk-Through Before You Get the Keys

After fixture installation and the pressure test, Circle T Plumbing & Water Quality conducts a complete plumbing walk-through. Every faucet is run, every toilet is flushed, every drain is confirmed, and the water heater is verified operational. Any issues identified during the walk-through are resolved before we leave.

For the homeowner or builder’s representative, the walk-through is a chance to confirm everything matches the plan and ask questions about the system. Tamra Toombs and Patrick McKinnis believe that handing off a home with a fully operational, inspected, and walked-through plumbing system is the standard — not an extra.

Final Inspection and Certificate of Occupancy

A final plumbing inspection is required in Texas before a certificate of occupancy is issued. Circle T coordinates the inspection, provides the required documentation, and ensures the plumbing system passes without delay to the close-out timeline.

Circle T Finishes What It Starts

The most reliable way to run a new construction plumbing project is with the same plumber across all three phases. Circle T Plumbing & Water Quality handles Rough-In (Phase 1), Top-Out (Phase 2), and trim-out as a complete service — one license number, one paper trail, one point of contact for the builder. No subcontractor hand-offs. No “that’s not our work” conversations when something needs attention.

No Surprises Pricing on Every Phase

You approve the price before work begins — that’s the Circle T Trust Guarantee. Trim-out pricing is project-specific based on fixture count and selections. Homeowners or builders who want to discuss the full three-phase scope can call or email — early planning conversations make scheduling easier and pricing clearer.

FAQ

Common questions.

What does trim-out include in new construction plumbing? +

Trim-out is the final plumbing phase — completed after drywall and paint are done. It includes installing all plumbing fixtures (faucets, sinks, toilets, tubs, showers), making water heater supply and discharge connections, connecting appliances, and conducting a final pressure test across the full system. Circle T Plumbing & Water Quality performs a complete walk-through before signaling occupancy readiness.

How long after top-out does trim-out happen? +

Trim-out happens late in construction — after drywall, paint, and cabinet installation are complete. The exact timeline depends on your GC's schedule. Circle T coordinates scheduling directly with the builder or homeowner to fit the trim-out phase without delaying the certificate of occupancy.

Is a final inspection required at trim-out? +

Yes. A final plumbing inspection is required before a certificate of occupancy is issued in Texas. Circle T coordinates this inspection and provides the necessary documentation. You receive a signed-off, inspected plumbing system before keys change hands.

Do you handle the water heater connection and commissioning at trim-out? +

Yes. Water heater supply and discharge connections, pressure relief valve installation, and system commissioning are all part of trim-out. We verify the water heater is operational and set correctly before the walk-through.
